News & Notes

Looks like I’m already too late to get decent affordable tickets to see Conan O’Brien’s live show when it hits Minneapolis. Full details on the tour are at TeamCoco.com and Conan is on Twitter.

I did purchase tickets to see Craig Ferguson when he comes to Minneapolis so that’s awesome. If you watch Craig’s show, surely you know he’s on twitter now.

I should get back in the habit of reading and posting to twitter myself. So far lately I’ve just had automated notifications of when the picks are posted there which is terribly boring. Picks are at twitter.com/tvpicks of course.

Still having keyboard issues which is why picks have been put online late this week. My MacBook Pro is missing the L and

Primetime Grid

Primetime

MLB Preseason Baseball: Atlanta at Yankees (MLB Network, 6pm).

NBA action on TNT: Bulls at Magic (TNT, 7pm), Trail Blazers at Warriors (TNT, 9:30pm). College hoops on ESPN and ESPN2 tonight.

Its “Family Day” at the community college on Community (NBC, 7pm) and Katherine McPhee guest stars as Pierce’s stepdaughter.

Beans are the topic on Modern Marvels (History Channel, 7pm and 11:01pm). A look at converting soybeans into oil, flour and soy meal, Nebraska’s Kelley Bean Company, New England baked beans made by B&M, heirloom beans, and hummus.

A possum causes problems on a local golf course on Parks & Recreation (NBC, 7:30pm). Is it possum week or something? There was a possum on Parenthood earlier in the week. And just a couple of weeks ago there was one on House. When I lived in my grandma’s house in South Dakota for a while a few years ago, I saw possums regulary as they lived in the attic and some of the young ones would come out in daylight and sit under the birdfeeder there. Young possums can be kinda cute and harmless, the older the get the creepier they look (but they’re still basically harmless and avoid peope and usually only are out at night).

Richard and Owen compete over who can perform a difficult surgery, Bailey is nervous about going on another date with Ben on Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8pm)

The death of a young boy may have ties to an old case on CSI (CBS, 8pm). Faith Prince guest stars.

Michael struggles to please the new boss (played by Kathy Bates) and it’s St. Patrick’s Day at The Office (NBC, 8pm).

New episode of House Hunters (HGTV, 8pm and midnight).

Liz tracks down “the man of her dreams” who she thinks she met while at the dentist, Jack freaks out over a rumor that a cable company might buy NBC on 30 Rock (NBC, 8:30pm). Elizabeth Banks continues her guest stint on the show and Michael Sheen guest stars.

A government research scientist is poisoned and has only hours to live, so she contacts the team to find her killer on The Mentalist (CBS, 9pm). We’ve seen this plot before on NCIS and other shows, but I’m sure there’ll be a new spin on it this time.

A surrogate who is carrying three babies is in danger and doctors are divided on the course of treatment on Private Practice (ABC, 9:01pm). And Cooper asks for Sheldon’s help with a patient.

Archer takes a higher paying job at a rival agency on Archer (FX, 9pm and 10:01pm). I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t yet checked out this animated comedy about spies as it sounds and looks like just the sort of show I’d realy like. Find out more on the website for the show. The show has already been picked up for a second season.

Larry David, Madonna, Ricky Gervais on The Marriage Ref (NBC, 9pm).

New episode of Project Runway (Lifetime, 9pm, 10:30pm, midnight).

Duff makes a cake for Haloti Ngata of the Baltimore Ravens on Ace of Cakes (Food Network, 9pm and midnight).

Lisa Kudrow (again), Ryan Bingham, and I think Eddie Izzard will help with emails on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, 11:35pm).

Nicole Richie, Gin Wigmore on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, 11:05pm).
